Jabu Events, one of Thailand’s most exciting event companies recently launched Bangkok Bollywood. Bangkok Bollywood will be home for all things Bollywood in Thailand. Furthermore, the brand is focused on the huge Indian wedding & MICE market that uses the stunning destinations and incredible infrastructure that Thailand boasts of for organizing events. Make no mistake, when Bangkok Bollywood was launched keeping in mind the 2 things that Indian events can’t do without – Indian Food & Bollywood music.

Bangkok Bollywood Brass Band

Bangkok Bollywood Brass Band is a large 7-11 piece brass instrument playing band. The band consists of mostly Thai musicians who play instruments such as the Saxophone, Trumpet, Tuba, Trombone among others. Besides brass instruments, the band also includes a percussionist as well as 2 Dhol players. The 2 Dhols form the core of the band as they provide the band with an Indian style rhythm. This is based on Bhangra & Bollywood music without which an Indian sound is not possible.

Baraat or Shaadi Band

The Dhols form an integral part of every Indian Wedding. They are part of the Groom’s procession also known as the “Baraat”. Typically the groom will ride a white horse to his wedding ceremony while his family & friends will dance in front of him for the entire duration of the procession. Therefore, the idea is to go as slow as possible and make the groom wait as much as possible. We’ve known Baraat’s to go on for hours over a 500-700 meter stretch. Furthermore, the music for this procession is provided by a “Brass Baraat Band” along with the Dhol players. The band is also great for some high energy Bollywood music at a Sangeet party or at a reception.

Party Band

Due to this high energy repertoire, the band is also perfectly suited to play at Indian hosted private & corporate events along with or even without a DJ so guests can bust out with their best Bhangara or Bollywood moves. Therefore, the band also plays a more mellow set better suited for cocktail parties, sit down dinners during Gala dinners and Awards Shows.

Most band members are Jazz, R&B and Western Classical playing musicians who have been handpicked to be part of the band. While learning Bollywood music, band members have fallen in love with Bollywood music and now can’t get enough. Also, half the band is female and adds a whole new dimension of fun and exciting energy to the band.

Bangkok Bollywood will soon also offer other locally based Bollywood talent. The talent will include Bollywood DJs, Bollywood Dancers, Musicians and much more. Watch out for the launch of “Bangkok Bollywood Strings Band”. So stay tuned and follow us on:
